Yesterday, our Office & Communication Director, Debra Andresen, had the opportunity to travel aboard Amtrak to Hermann, Missouri, with Sarah from the City of Sedalia and Kena from Amtrak!

A special thank you to Kena for sharing the boarding process and providing a comfortable and enjoyable train experience!

While in Hermann, Tammy provided a wonderful tour of their beautiful town. The day was filled with great conversations, new connections, and exciting ideas for promoting Sedalia as an Amtrak destination for overnight stays and weekend getaways!

🐂 **Celebrating Western Heritage in Sedalia, Missouri!**

What a great conference! Sedalia was proud to welcome the **2026 Historic Cattle Trails Conference**, bringing together historians, cattle trail enthusiasts, speakers, and visitors to celebrate the rich history of America's cattle drives and Western heritage!

The conference featured outstanding presentations on historic cattle trails, the cowboys and cattlemen who helped shape our nation, and the important role these trails played in American history.

From fascinating stories and educational presentations to Western art, music, and wonderful fellowship, this was truly a memorable event!

👏 **A special thank you to Dr. Doug Kiburz and Connie Kiburz** for their hard work, dedication, and countless hours spent organizing such a wonderful conference. Your passion for preserving Western history and bringing this event to Sedalia is greatly appreciated!

👏 **Thank you to State Fair Community College** for providing the beautiful Thompson Conference Center and the delicious food served throughout the conference. Your hospitality helped make this event a success!

🎨 **Thank you to the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art** for hosting a wonderful artist reception featuring beautiful artwork celebrating Western history and heritage. The artwork, atmosphere, and delicious hors d'oeuvres made for a fantastic evening!

We also want to thank all the guest speakers, volunteers, and attendees who helped make this conference such a memorable experience.

🏆 **SEDALIA SHINES AT THE MISSOURI GOVERNOR’S CONFERENCE ON TOURISM!**

Sedalia was well represented at the **Missouri Governor’s Conference on Tourism Awards Banquet** this evening!

What an exciting and memorable evening as two outstanding ladies from Sedalia were recognized for their dedication, leadership, and contributions to Missouri tourism!

🏆 **Kathleen Boswell** was honored with the prestigious **Tracy Kimberlin Hospitality Award!**

🏆 **Carolyn Crooker** was inducted into the **Missouri Tourism Hall of Fame!**

These well-deserved honors are a true reflection of their hard work, passion, and commitment to promoting tourism and making a difference in our community and throughout Missouri.

**Congratulations to both of these amazing ladies!** You have done an outstanding job representing Sedalia, Missouri, and we couldn't be prouder!

Sedalia Parks & Recreation's Trunk or Treat will feature 47+ decorated trunks!

📍 **NEW LOCATION:** Liberty Stadium & Liberty Pool Parking Lots

🚂 Liberty Land Train rides will also be available for $3 per person (cash only).

🎃 Important Trunk or Treat Location Change! 🎃

We've got some BIG news! This year, we have a record-breaking 47+ trunks joining us for Trunk or Treat October 30th 6-8pm! With all this excitement comes a little change of plans!

For the safety of our families and the growing number of participants, we are moving Trunk or Treat from Centennial Park to the Liberty Stadium and Liberty Pool parking lots! We've simply outgrown our space at Centennial Park, and with so many families crossing the surrounding streets, we want to make sure everyone can enjoy the evening safely.

👻 Here's what you need to know:

🚧 Road Closure: Liberty Stadium Boulevard will close at 3:30p.m. and remain closed throughout the event so families can safely walk between parking lots.

🍬 Participating Trunks: Please arrive and be in place by 5:30 p.m. All trunks must provide their own candy.

🅿️ Parking: Available at the Heckart Community Center, Liberty Park, and along the streets off Liberty Park Boulevard.

🚂 The Liberty Land Train will be running from 6pm–8pm! Rides are just $3 per person cash only!

We hate to make a change on such short notice, but what an incredible problem to have! Our community continues to show up in a BIG way, and we're so excited to make this year's Trunk or Treat even bigger than years past!

This new location will give us more room, better traffic flow, and a safer experience for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us make this event so special! 🎃
