Dolly Parton meant so much to Pigeon Forge, the Smoky Mountains, and generations of people around the world. Her kindness, generosity, music, and love for the place she called home have left a mark that will never fade.

he Smoky Mountains are home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire eastern United States — and most visitors never make it past the first one on the list.

From a waterfall you can walk behind to the tallest single-drop cascade in the entire park, here is what is waiting for you on the trails right now:

⛰️ Grotto Falls — the only waterfall in the Smokies you can walk behind, tucked inside an old-growth hemlock forest on a 2.6-mile round trip hike
⛰️ Rainbow Falls — the tallest single-drop waterfall in the park at 80 feet, named for the misty rainbow it creates at its base on sunny afternoons
⛰️ Abrams Falls — thundering volume inside Cades Cove, a 5-mile round trip hike with a dramatic payoff at the end
⛰️ Ramsey Cascades — the tallest waterfall in the park at 100 feet, a full day backcountry adventure for experienced hikers
