Officially set foot in Antarctica - Brabant Island - visiting with a great group of 12 other adventurous travelers - visited a penguin colony and observed hundreds of gentoo penguins building pebble nests and raising their young chick, took a submarine ride 400 ft to the seafloor, saw several humpback whales- a stunningly beautiful part of the world! Made it through Drakes Passage!! Sweeps were 12-20 ft but not as bad as I expected- although a few guests spent all day in bed. Entertained by 6-8 whales diring lunch, everyone sized for our Viking waterproof gear including boots and the did our first Zodiac excursion around the Melchior Islands. Saw some chinstrap and gentoo penguins up close. 32 degrees but felt colder due to wind and rain/snow. My pictures fail to convey the spectacular scenery painted Mother Nature!

Had the wonderful opportunity to travel with this great group of travelers on Oceania's Greek Isles and Turkish Riviera Cruise . Toured Ephesus (visited the House of The Virgin Mary), Patmos (Cave of the Apocalypse where St John wrote the Book of Revelation), Mykonos, the fascinating cities of Istanbul (20+ million people) and Athens (Acropolis and Parthenon). Thanks to Dale tasted 100 yr old Louis XIII Cognac. Loved the food of Turkey and Greece and learned that Greece makes some decent white wine!!
