Inspired by the Taj Mahal's incredible decoration and intricate detail, the skills have been passed down, family to family for generations since the original works were created in the white marble. Each tiny flower and\or design is composed of multiple cut pieces of precious or remix precious stone for color....and inlaid into grooves etched in the very hard and resilient marble surface.
Why my interest in India? Originally the source of Ayurvedic Medicine and herbals....a large part of the anti-inflammatory diet I teach. Herbs such as Turmeric which have gained renown as life-changing are only scratching the surface of all that is available in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Just never expected to be learning so much more in so many other areas.
