📣 Franklin County, MA voices needed!

If you live, work, or spend time in a rural Massachusetts community, the 2026 Massachusetts Rural Policy Plan wants to hear from you.

Your experiences with schools, roads, broadband, housing, healthcare, transportation, and local economies shape this plan — especially in places like the Hilltowns and West County.

Online feedback sessions run through May and June.
Add your voice and help shape the future of rural life.

If you live, work, or spend time in a rural part of Massachusetts, here’s a chance to share what matters to you. Feedback is being gathered for the 2026 Massachusetts Rural Policy Plan, and community voices from families, educators, librarians, artists, youth workers, nonprofit folks, and anyone who calls these communities home are needed.

The plan covers many of the things that shape everyday life in rural towns, including schools, roads, internet access, housing, health, and local economies. For families in the Hilltowns, these issues can touch everything from local learning opportunities and library access to high-speed internet, transportation, and the community spaces that help people stay connected.

Online feedback sessions are happening through May and June. Your perspective matters, especially if you know rural life from the ground up, not just from a town office or official role.

Learn more and register through Franklin Regional Council of Governments’ 2026 MA Rural Policy Plan Feedback Sessions page: https://frcog.org/2026-ma-rural-policy-plan-feedback-sessions/

🌸 Bridge of Flowers Update 🌸
The Bridge of Flowers is open this weekend (May 16–17) but will be CLOSED on weekdays, May 18–22, 2026.

You may hear “the bridge is open!” — but the official opening is still in progress. The Master Gardeners and Blossom Brigade have been hard at work on the foundational plantings, and last week’s weather slowed things down a bit. With this beautiful weekend, they’re opening the bridge temporarily for everyone to enjoy.

Starting Monday, the bridge will close again so volunteers can safely continue planting. There will be tools, wheelbarrows, and lots of activity on the bridge, so weekday access isn’t possible for May 18-22.

Follow the Bridge of Flowers on Facebook and visit BridgeOfFlowersMass.org for updates.
You can also follow on FB and IG and check ShelburneFalls.com for local info and updates.
