The past few months have been quite the whirlwind! Between a flooded basement, welcoming our beautiful new granddaughter, and the usual hustle and bustle of life, I haven't found a moment to gather everyone for our somewhat annual Christmas card. Even though I intended to send one out, it just didn't happen this year. Imagine that! :-) Harold and I genuinely wish you a Christmas overflowing with love and laughter. May your holidays be enriched with cherished traditions and wonderful new memories! - Love, Debi, and Harold

I post this in memory of my mother-in-law, Nell, the most beautiful woman inside and out, and to those living with loved ones with dementia now. We lived this nightmare for over a decade.

Robin Williams took his own life because he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. Bruce Willis just learned that his illness is Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and Lewy Body Dementia. One of the hardest things to process is the slow change in the one you love. Becoming a completely different person. Everything changes. Just so you know...๐Ÿ˜ข Itโ€™s called the long goodbye. A rapidly shrinking brain is how a doctor described it. As the patient's brain slowly dies, they change physically and eventually forget who their loved ones are and become less themselves. Patients can eventually become bedridden, unable to move, and unable to eat or drink or talk to their loved ones. There will be people who will scroll by this message because Dementia, Alzheimer or Parkinsonโ€™s has not touched them. They may not know what it's like to have a loved one who has fought or is fighting a battle.
To raise awareness of this cruel disease, I would like to see at least 5 of my friends put this on their timeline. I'll settle for at least one.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

If I could live my life over again,
I would have gone to bed to rest when I felt sick instead of pretending the earth would stop if I wasn't at work for a day...
I would have burned the pink candle carved like a rose instead of letting it melt in the pantry...
I would have talked less and listened more...
I would have invited friends to the table even if there is a stain on the carpet and the couch needs to be cleaned.
I would have eaten popcorn in the "good" room and wouldn't have worried so much about dust when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather telling stories from his youth.
I would never have insisted on driving with the car windows down on a beautiful summer day, just because my hair was freshly styled and fixed.
I would have been lying on the meadow with my head on the grass.
I would have cried and laughed less watching TV and more watching life.
But, most of all, to have a second chance at life, I would cherish every moment, I would really look at it... I would live it...
I wouldn't get so worked up over petty and petty things anymore...
Don't worry about those who don't like you, or rather, you shouldn't care who does what...
Instead, let's cherish the friends we have and the people who love us...
And to what we do every day to improve our mind, body, soul, emotions.

In the blink of an eye another day is gone,
In the blink of an eye another week is gone.
In the blink of an eye another month is gone,
In the blink of an eye another year is gone.
And in the blink of an eye I'll be gone too,
And not just me but also you.
So maybe we should be wishin' and hopin',
That we could just keep our eyes open.
And see and appreciate all that we can see,
And learn how we can be, the best that we can be,
Before it's too late,
Time flies, so let's not wait.
Whether we have just one life or many, one thing is true,
We should try to enjoy every moment; it's the wisest thing to do.

A good friend I met on one of our Stolen Horse International-NetPosse Missing and Stolen Equine's Horse Lovers Summit 2025s sent this to me today and said, "I love how much you laughed on the lake trip." It reminded me that I need to do this more and not take life so seriously all the time. She was right. It felt so good to laugh again and again and then laugh some more. This is one reason I love what I do through our nonprofit organization. I meet the most wonderful kind people. Thank you, Kim Carpenter!
