ONE DAY ONLY ! Fun For the WHOLE FAMILY!

Outdoors at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex Parking Lot

Free Admission, Free Parking
There will be dealers with rough rocks, old rocks, polished rocks, sparkly
rocks. Fossils, minerals and gemstones are also possibilities. There will be
jewelry from rocks, home décor from rocks. Look for cut rocks, polished rocks,
colorful rocks. There will be lots of dealers who will just love to talk about
rocks….theirs and others. Lapidarists may even be present. You will probably
see rocks you have never seen before. And, best part is…it is FREE!
The OSCMS will sponsor a live auction on Saturday, starting at 11:30
am. Anyone can get a Bid Card and bid on items up for grabs. Proceeds
from this auction goes to support the OSCMS Scholarship Fund, giving
a boost to a deserving Junior or Senior student at an Oklahoma higher
education school with an earth sciences major. All donations for the
Auction are most welcome.
Hosted by the Ada Gem, Mineral and Fossil Club, and sponsored by the
Oklahoma State Council of Mineralogical Societies.

Here is the parking map to access the Gravette Historical Museum’s festivities on Gravette Day, Saturday August 9th. Charlotte Street SE will be closed to traffic, so guests will need to park at the Western Benton County NWTI Career Center at 406 6th Ave SE, then it’s just a short walk to the museum. We will be open from 7-2! Be sure to check out our list of fun activities for all ages!

We are open Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10-4! Stop in and see us!

You are invited to our July meeting today, Tuesday, July 22 at 7 PM. Please bring an example of your hobby to show everyone. Our program for kids is at 6 PM. There are 5 Tuesdays this month and we meet on the 4th Tuesday.

Recently several feet of earth where removed in order to build you guys the new over pass next to the Tyson Plant just before exit 73 on Elm Spring Road traveling North. I'm finding fossils daily all over the place without having to look to hard. I dnt have the time to look arnd as much as I would love too but I figured I would share the knowledge with someone who might be as fascinated as I am about these rocks.
