I want to bring to your attention an important issue that may affect those of you who currently hold an American Airlines–branded credit card.

It has come to my attention that some cardholders are experiencing a transition of their existing American Airlines credit card to a different issuing company, resulting in the card being converted into a non–American Airlines affiliated product. In certain cases, this change appears to have occurred without clear or direct prior notification.

This transition may impact the benefits you rely on, including airline rewards, loyalty points accumulation, travel perks, and other card-specific advantages associated with American Airlines.

I strongly recommend that you:
• Review any recent communications from your credit card provider carefully
• Check your current card details and rewards structure
• Contact your card issuer directly to confirm whether your account has been affected
• Evaluate whether your current card still aligns with your travel and rewards needs

If maintaining American Airlines–related benefits is important to you, you may wish to explore alternative card options that continue to offer those features.

If you’re looking for a French city escape but you’d rather skip the crowds of Paris, then Bordeaux makes for a perfect alternative. It’s much more low-key and has a slower pace. It’s just as walkable as Paris, and your wanderings will take you to some of the best food and wine to be had in all of France. It’s easy to access from London, Barcelona, and other European cities, or it makes for a nice addition to a tour of France. Have you been to Bordeaux yet?
