That Monday was our last day in Edinburgh - we all headed a block from our hotel to the Big Bus and started our last day of adventures!!
My husband parted ways with us and took the Blue Line the bus offers, down to see the Royal Yacht Britannia (the Queen's yacht) while the other four of us started our day at St Giles Cathedral!
The original Romanesque church was built in 1124 but after fire damage in the 1300's it was rebuilt in Gothic Style - I mean.. stepping into a church that is almost 1000 years old, just does something to me, filling me with awe and gratitude! We explored the stunning Thistle Chapel which was commissioned in 1909 and is a MUST SEE in Edinburgh - the church has a small entry fee but 100% worth it!
Then three of us and I trekked a few blocks down the Royal Mile to our Islander Handbag workshop experience! If you ever get the chance DO THIS, so much fun - we all made beautiful handbags to our own personal specifications - my friend Nolan made his for his beloved who couldn't travel with us (awww ❤ ) Loved this!
Turns out it is RIGHT next to Mackey's on the Mile where we had dinner the night before so we decided to slip in for lunch and WHO do we find in this huge city but another couple from our group at the adjoining table 😂
After that Verna and I made our way back to the top of the Royal Mile as I had shopping I promised I would do - we enjoyed pipers, magicians and ice cream as we shopped our way down to the Tron Kirk Market - a market full of hand made Scottish treasures set inside a church built in 1633
That evening four of our party enjoyed a Private Edinburgh Pub Tour that they all raved about!! 🍻Ask me more about this and other tours everyone enjoyed!
For our last day in Edinburgh - it was just as wonderful as all the rest, made even better by wonderful friends!
