I’ve gotta be honest. A couple of years ago, I didn’t see the point of a travel advisor. I didn’t even realize they still existed. It wasn’t until I went on a curated trip to Egypt with Flashpack, that I truly understood the value of having travel plans taken care of. (I had always just pieced trips together on my own.)

When I arrived in Cairo, there was someone there to walk me and other travelers through customs, and our drive to the hotel was all pre-arranged. (You couldn’t pay me to drive in Cairo.) We had jaw-dropping itineraries planned for each day, and we had a local Egyptologist who looked after us and provided valuable context to each of the amazing landmarks we visited in Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor.

For some, the uncertainty of figuring it out on their own is all just a part of the adventure — and I love and admire that. But for others, the stress of planning such an adventure would be enough to prevent them from going in the first place. I don’t wish that for anyone who has the passion to visit faraway places.
