There's something unforgettable about watching a giant humpback disappear into the depths.
This morning, the Chastain family had a front-row seat as this incredible humpback lifted its massive fluke high above the water before diving deep to feed on swarms of krill beneath the surface. Moments like these remind us just how wild and spectacular the waters around Sitka truly are.
Every fluke is unique-like a fingerprint-and every dive is a glimpse into the fascinating lives of these amazing whales.
Thank you, Chastain family, for spending your morning on the water with me. It was a pleasure sharing this incredible encounter with you!
