This is the 4th year these guys have came down from Atlanta to fish with me, but this year they booked 4 days… As if keeping 2 guys entertained and on fish for 4 days wasn’t enough pressure, Mother Nature decided to turn the fan on high for ALL 4 DAYS… 🤦🏽‍♂️

Saturday started off cold and windy but the bull reds and jacks were in Lake Pontchartrain and greeted us like a hot cup of coffee… After warming up with them we headed over to the bridges and filled the chest with sheeps.

Sunday was a little warmer but just as windy as Saturday. They requested trout, so I headed to the MRGO area and found some under diving birds. Once that died off I made a move to the ICW and finished off their box in about 22’ of water.

Monday was still windy but we managed to get into the black drums and sheeps in Lake Pontchartrain.

Today they wanted trout and reds but wanted to stay close because they were driving back to ATL after the trip. The wind eased up a bit for today and we managed to find some beautiful trout in about 4’ of water around Lake Catherine and Rigolets. Once they had their limit of trout we switched to the shorelines and ponds and managed to put some redfish on ice.

I’ve had to reschedule this crew 3 times since April because of the weather so when I woke up and saw a window in the weather yesterday I said let’s go! Live shrimp from Southshore Bait and Marina on a drop shot with a 1oz cannonball weight from sinkersbythelb around Lake Borgne got it done! Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one!

One of today’s clients has a daughter that is getting married soon and she requested a fish fry party for the family before the big day… He told me he wanted sheepshead and enough to feed about 100 people…. Live shrimp from Southshore Bait and Marina on a drop shot with 1oz cannonball weights from Sinkers By the pound in Lake Pontchartrain got it done! I even caught a few on the new Matrix Shad shrimp! It was awesome! Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one!
