Spring 2024 was a very cool one and here we are well into summer and have not had many really hot days. We’ve been blessed with the most beneficial rains and we’ve had no hail. Very early we had a pond filler and since then we’ve had the nicest 1” to 1.5” rains. Our annual wheat harvest is now behind us, and the guys are currently putting up a lot of hay. All the crops are looking very good, so if we can continue to miss any destructive storms, our fall harvest should be outstanding. It seems the deer population have also benefited by the weather. We’ve seen many while traveling Smith County roads.

Thought I would leave this note here that our Wisconsin Boys left when they headed home. I have got to say we have met the nicest people through our hunting lodge. We’ve been at this for a few years now, and we’ve become good friends of all who visit us. We’ve had people from Louisiana, Texas, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, South Dakota and Missouri. We realize that all we have is Gods. We are here for just a little while and we aim to be good stewards of the land in which we have been planted. We are thankful for all we have, and for those people who have crossed our paths.
