The Flying Circus Balloon Festival is always the 3 rd week in August, This weekend for the past 43 years has marked the beginning of our or my Hot Air Balloon season each year here in Virginia.

"The Flying Circus" is one of several out of town weekends Coastal Balloons attends & flys with Balloon guests during the year. (Just call us for details)

Its about 8 degrees warmer in coastal Virginia then it is in the Virginia mountain once Fall arrives mid to late in November we fly mostly in the Coastal Virginia area.

Begining in September, we fly weekly until mid January here in Coastal Virginia with Virginias late mild weather.

We also Love flying at Smith Mt. Lake in September to provide Hot Air Balloon charters for our guests.

Its always fun to go out of town to fly in the early Fall.

In Oct we enjoy flying in the Shenandoah Valley for a couple of weekends near the middle & end of Oct.

Please give us a call for your Hot Air Balloon reservations from the Mountains to the Sea with us at Coastal Balloons.

Fall always arrives in Coastal Virginia around the first week of November. With November 15 -20th as peak leaf week here in Coastal Virginia.

Williamsburg is also an area we enjoy flying in as the colors change in the regional areas.

During November the colors are crazy in the wetlands grass turning blond & the inland waterways turning blackish in color in the fall..

Because flying in a Hot Air Balloons is about 15 degrees warmer then the ambient outdoor temperatures with the Hot Air Balloons Burners, Its very comfortable to fly in cooler temperatures.

Alway dress casual & very comfortable like your going to a picnic or for "date walk" in the woods.

Animal are always more visible during the Fall & Winter flights during the year.

We are now beginning to accept reservations for our fall & early winter flying season.

Coastal Balloons Fall News

This September Coastal Balloons is planning to change it's scheduling format to begin offering "Privite Hot Air Balloon Adventures " only.

In a effort to change with the times

Coastal Balloons will not be mixing
Hot Air Balloon guests in the Balloon baskets in the future.

We feel, We are changing with the times & "Privite Flights" seem to be the future..

These changes will open up new options for our Balloon guests & allow Coastal Balloons to fly more in other areas like Williamsburg, & the Coastal Virginia & North Carolina areas.

Cost $698 per couple

Our New services will include:

Optional Limo Pick Up service with several New flying locations with premium meeting locations at New Restaurants & Hotels in the future.

In addition to the Coastal Balloons Privite Balloon Adventures. Coastal
Balloons will offer a new series of Privite Flights called "Extreme Balloon Adventures" these Adventures include a adventure where Coastal Balloons launches the Balloon 59 minutes before the Sunrise & climbs up to over a mile in the Sky on a New "Sunrise Ocean Adventure".

"Extreme Adventure Flight"
Cost $1498 per couple

These Extreme Adventure Flights Will view the Virginia & Carolina coast line a sunrise from at least a mile in the Sky & the Balloon may travel as much as 50 to 100 miles before landing.

Other plans for extreme Hot Air Balloon flights included a Balloon Flight for two out of some of the West Virginia & Virginia Ski Resorts this winter. These high altitude flights will only be available during the Winter.

Coastal Balloons is now hiring hot air Balloon Crew on a flexible schedule.

This is a fun position during the week & weekends, this is a great part time job that's fun for any age from retired people to students

The Hot Air Balloon Crew chases inflates & recovers the Hot Air Balloons during a Hot Air Balloon Adventures.

These flights require us to meet at sunrise or about 4 hours before sunset

A driver's lic is required

The job pays $50 to $100 a flight depending on experience & the position.

As 2020 comes to a end. I think everyone is glad to see 2020 go. We all lost a little quality of life this past year. ...

As 2020 comes to a end. I think everyone is glad to see 2020 go.

We all lost a little quality of life this past year.

Not knowing who or what to believe in the media concerning the virus. I decide to do what I believed was the safest thing to do for our Balloon passengers.

After being closed for most of the first half of the year .. I decided not to mix passengers out side of their own groups in our Balloon recovery trucks or the Balloon Baskets.

I have No regrets. I feel I made the right decision to maintain the safety of our passengers.

December & January are pretty good months to fly here in Coastal Virginia.

March 1st we will begin to fly on a "Stand By" passenger list until Spring. Hopefully in May we will be able to return flying our larger Balloons.

Anyone that would like to fly on a "Stand By List" during the winter months please give us a call.

Winter flying is fun in milder temperatures above 50 degrees but it's hard to schedule a date to fly during March, April into early May..

Right now we have space to fly.

If you would like to social distance yourself, Coastal Balloons has space available to fly..
