Pro tip! Send yourself a postcard from Disney’s Castaway Cay!

Your stateroom will have postcards in your desk drawer and you can also purchase a postcard from the Castaway Cay gift shop! You can purchase a Bahamian stamp at the Castaway Cay post office, or if you don’t have cash on you, you can ask guest services to mail for you the next time the ship is in port!

We sent off our postcard on 6/13 and it just arrived last week! It was such a fun surprise in our mailbox. We absolutely loved our magical day at Disney’s Castaway Cay and this sweet postcard was a sweet reminder! 📫 💌🏖️

Origin Story Time! 🏰

This photo was taken exactly 13 years ago today, the night before my birthday, high atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort at California Grill. This was my first visit to Walt Disney World as an adult and my first meal at a real Disney restaurant. I planned the trip for my then boyfriend (now husband). I asked friends for recommendations and then started reading all of the great Disney dining blogs to learn all about the world of delicious food at Walt Disney World.

This exquisite meal with sunset views of Magic Kingdom was truly what sparked my interest in Disney travel planning. I couldn’t believe options like California Grill existed and that there was so much to do for adults at Walt Disney World!

We went on to spend 4 days at the parks (one park each day) and enjoyed Coral Reef at Epcot, Tony’s Town Square at Magic Kingdom Park, Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Sci-Fi Dine In at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort and had the most magical visit. We’ve now been back together 15 times and will be there again to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary together this October!

What is my point? I loved going to Walt Disney World. But even more? I LOVED planning our vacation. I loved it so much that I had our next visit planned before we’d even come home.

What I started to find was that planning our own trips wasn’t enough! I started helping friends and offering advice, making it my mission to eat at every great restaurant at Walt Disney World. Fast forward 4 years later in 2016, I became a Travel Advisor with Be Our Guest Travel Company.

I now plan over 100 vacations to Walt Disney World every year. I’ve stayed almost all of the resort hotels and eaten at all of the signature restaurants. I have made it my mission to know EVERYTHING about Walt Disney World and share this knowledge with my clients. And I LOVE my job.
