About our Trainer: Carola Sossdorf
Carola grew up in a small town in central Germany, starting her equestrian journey at just six years old. Initially training in dressage and jumping, she later discovered western riding and fell in love with it. Her introduction to liberty-style training came while working with a challenging mare, prompting her to seek guidance from Conny Felizak (cfwesterntraining.de). Observing Conny’s work sparked an immediate realization that training horses was her true calling.
In 2014, Carola moved to Canada to manage a guest ranch, where she prepared young horses for their roles on the dude ranch. Later, she joined Wendy Nelson Reining and Performance Horses, further refining her skills. Drawing from a wealth of experience with performance trainers, traditional cowboys, liberty trainers, clinicians, and the many horses she worked with, Carola developed the ProHorse Training Method. By combining the best techniques suited for each horse, ProHorse was born.
