Cartagena Colombia known as the Jewel of the indies, is a gorgeous fishing village on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, has excellent beaches, vivid nightlife, and fascinating cultural festivals, it is a historic old town (that’s entirely walkable) and beautiful with colorful colonial architecture buildings.

Walking around Cartagena, you’ll see some of the most amazing displays of Cartagena street art! When exploring Cartagena street art look for the Black Bird known as “Maria Malaya” behind the statue of Pedro Romero. Also, worth noting the mural of the Smiling Afro-Colombian women who are showcased with strength and confidence.

The El Totumo Mud Volcano is surprisingly one of the most popular tourist attractions in Cartagena. According to local legend, a priest sprinkled holy water onto the lava spewing volcano and tamed it into the natural relaxing mud bath spa that exists today. Climb up the 50-foot volcano, accessible by a staircase, and enter the crater to relax in the natural mud that the volcano produces.
