We regret to inform you that the October 3rd Kenai Peninsula Historical Association has been cancelled due to a lack of a host and meeting place.

The good news is that we will be hosting the spring meeting scheduled for May 1st, 2027, so keep a watch out for more details this spring!

Also the Alaska Historical Society's annual meeting will be held in Homer this year between October 7-10 and virtually over Zoom. You can find more information at http://alaskahistoricalsociety.org/

On Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the Soldotna Public Library, three longtime Soldotna residents shared their stories and experiences living in early Soldotna. Dr. Dick Reger, Barbara Jewell, and Kearlee Wright (pictured below) each provided an invaluable look into our city's past, and the entire talk will be available via the American Conversation Project's (https://www.americanconversations.org/) at a later date.

👉TOURIST TIP TUESDAY👈Are you interested in the unique history of Soldotna and the surrounding area? Go see Jacob at the Soldotna Historical Society Museum. Jacob attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage and Kenai Peninsula College and graduated with a Bachelor's in History. This is his third year working at the museum. One of his favorite artifacts in the museum is miniature Alaska State flag signed by Benny Benson, which can be found in the main building of the museum complex. His interests outside of history and museums include worldbuilding, table-top roleplaying games, and the paranormal. You can see Jacob and stroll through the historical buildings Monday through Thursday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free!
