In a nearly empty diner at 2 a.m., a lonely night-shift worker and a late-night singer find each other in the glow of an "Open" sign — trading barbs, bad coffee, and slowly, their hearts. A tender, achingly beautiful love story.

❦ 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘺 𝘗𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴 follows Dean Kate Johnson as she navigates faculty infighting, budget woes, and tenure battles at a public university’s School of Public Affairs — all while her professors keep turning up dead in oddly convenient ways. As a persistent, if slightly bumbling, detective circles closer to the truth, colleagues scramble to protect their careers, their secrets, and possibly each other. Equal parts campus satire, whodunit, and dark comedy, 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘺 𝘗𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴 asks just how far ambition, tenure politics, and a chronically underfunded department might drive someone.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿
❦ Continuing the long and overrated tradition of Americans in Paris, 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗔. 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 left L.A. to move to the City of Lights, where she works as a freelance translator and an English professor at the Sorbonne University. Her two-act play 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘐 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘒𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘠𝘰𝘶 placed in the semi-finals of the 2021 ScreenCraft Stage Play Competition, and the finals in the 2025 Stanley Drama Award, before winning 3rd place in the 2025 Beverly Hills Theatre Guild Playwriting Competition. Her short play 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘵-𝘚𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 was a finalist in the 2025 Spectacular Tournament of Playwrights and was produced as a staged reading at The Acorn in Three Oaks, Michigan in November 2025. Ms. Silverstone has a B.A. in French from Occidental College (Los Angeles), where she minored in Theater and Art, and a Master’s in English from Université de Rennes II, France.
