It’s been pretty steamy.. keeping our flock and herd cool can be a challenge.. lots of fresh water.. and electrolytes…. Need a quick and easy recipe?

Electrolytes for our chicken, and herd…. - a simple recipe:

-1 gallon fresh water

-1 teaspoon salt / 1.5 tablespoon sugar / 1.5 tablespoons baking soda

-1.5 tablespoons molasses (I melt mine down with some hot water first)

Mix and add to fresh water, or give them the gallon as is…. Be careful with salt, don’t overdo (we use sea salt) … I give this to them, mixed with their water 2x/day. They seem to enjoy the sweet stuff- and keeps them cooler too.
