For 22 years I have set and removed almost every swim course at a variety of events all across Southern California. This is an itsy-bitsy race with tiny humans swimming their guts out. Always a joy.
Contrast this with adult triathletes cutting the swim course and deliberately cheating. When prompted by myself or other safety personnel they look at you with a “how dare you accuse me”. Aren’t triathletes just racing against themselves? WTF people.
Train more; race harder; wear Xterra clear goggles, and stop cheating.

Lots of doom and gloom about the ocean these days. I am here to report that our little coastal haven is thriving. Too many newborns to count yesterday. We had long and short-beaked Commons, Bottlenose and Rissos. We camped near a Blue Whale, but we lost it. Water 75. Air 75. Is it time to come see for yourself?

I got gophers at my house. Super annoying. My brother has a whole different problem. This guy opened a sliding door. Took a bag of peanut butter pretzels out to the lawn and then went back inside and climbed a set of stairs. Probably looking for something to wash the pretzels down. Oh my….

Another Crew Classic comes and goes. Four plus decades and it still give me goosebumps to watch the elite programs battle it out. 4,000 athletes and over 150 races and a Water Operations team that crushed a ridiculous amount of work.
I am immensely proud of what we do each year to help make this event happen.
