The circle of life continues, filled with excitement and adventure!

On day 9 and 10 of our journey, Mother Nature surprised us with playful lion cubs in the morning! It was an exhilarating experience to witness these adorable creatures in their natural habitat.

In the wild, lion cubs frolic and play with their mothers and fellow cubs, partaking in thrilling activities such as stalking, hide-and-seek, and wrestling. These playful interactions are not just for fun - they are crucial for the cubs’ development.
Let’s take a closer look at the fascinating world of lion cub play and their special bond with their mothers:
Play is not just child’s play: It is essential for the development of lion cubs, helping them hone skills like hunting, coordination, and socialization.

On Day 6 of our safari in Botswana, we were thrilled to spot the majestic Sable antelope! Sable are known for their elusive nature, making them a rare and exciting sight to behold. The largest populations of Sable can be found in the miombo and mopane woodland belts of southern Tanzania, western Zambia, northern Zimbabwe, and Botswana.

One of the most impressive features of a Sable bull is its horns, which can grow at an average rate of 1 inch per month until they are about 3 years old. During days 3, 4, and 5 of our journey, we had the incredible opportunity to explore the wildlife-rich Okavango Delta in Botswana. This unique ecosystem is home to a diverse array of species, including the African Bush Elephant, African Buffalo, Hippopotamus, wild dog and many more.

Vilakazi Street in Soweto, South Africa, holds a unique distinction as the only street in the world to have been home to two Nobel Peace Prize laureates: Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. This historic street is also known for its pivotal role in the fight against apartheid, particularly during the Soweto Uprising of June 16, 1976.
During the Soweto Uprising, students peacefully protested the government’s imposition of Afrikaans as the language of instruction in schools, which was seen as a symbol of oppression by black South Africans. The protests escalated when police released dogs on the demonstrators, leading to a violent confrontation that resulted in the tragic deaths of over 176 individuals.
The Mandelas, including Nelson and Winnie Mandela, resided just a short distance from the site of the Soweto Uprising. Their home stands as a testament to the resilience and courage of those who fought against injustice during that tumultuous period in South Africa’s history.
