The sunset over Miami from the air seemed like a good place to reflect. Our first year was obviously our best year ever. I would like to thank everyone who took a chance and let us take part in their adventures. 30 trips to 10 countries booked in just over 6 months. Both leisure and corporate. Our family trip this summer took us to Paros Greece. It's just a 30 minute flight from Athen's but you feel much farther away. Paros may lack the manmade drama of Mykonos and the dramatic landscapes of Santorini, but Its best parts lack the throngs of tourists as well. It is a more casual island. Its endless views, whitewashed ports, crescent beaches, and the best food of any island we have been to in Greece tends to beckon more subtlety . Which is fine by us.

Despite being named the worlds most beautiful island since 2016 in multiple travel publications Palawan manages to still feel undiscovered. It's remoteness and designation as a protected area helps. You feel like you are kayaking, paddle-board and snorkeling through a prehistoric aquarium. And for the most part you will feel like you have it all to yourself.

There are places you go to be a part of it all. Then there are places you go to be away. For that Amanzoe comes to mind....

There are places you go to be a part of it all. Then there are places you go to be away. For that Amanzoe comes to mind. Aman is Sanskrit for 'peace' while zoe is the Greek word for 'life' and you will find both meld well here.

It is however, difficult to spend time in Greece without being drawn to the sea. Just off the coast the island of Hydra has a strong pull. You wont find cars, but you will be immersed in a quintessential harbor town offering sunsets through bar windows, donkey taxis, and since the lack of cars keep most close to the main port you will only have to walk a few minutes before you can feel blissfully alone again.

There is a island off an island off the coast of Morocco that has cavernas which rival the much more famous grottos of Capri. The Desertas Islands are 16 miles from the southern coast of the Portuguese Island of Madeira. Designated a nature preserve you're more likely to be accompanied by monk seals or band-rumped storm petrels than tour boats if you wish to explore the caves.

I founded Flying Point because I believe travel can change you. Travel is not simply enjoyment for one moment in time, but it’s impact lingers – making you better long after you return home. I was 27 before I was able to get the first stamp on my passport and ever since not a day goes by when I don’t think about where to go next.

Before starting Flying Point I spent the first 20 years of my career analyzing stocks on Wall Street institutional trading desks. I understand how little time we have to truly get away, and also how necessary it is not to waste it. My goal since leaving has been simply to use what I have learned at work and away to expand what people think is possible with travel.

Some will claim there are better pictures of Tigers Nest Monastery out there. However none do the experience of seeing it justice. After hiking for two days trough the Himalayas to places where there are no roads. Following the signs. Being invited to lunch with monks. And camping with clouds you come close to understanding a country whose economic measuring stick is Gross National Happiness.
