Get Out Sailing

Private sailing charters along the coast of MDI and Acadia National Park. We sail from the Claremont Hotel's dock in Southwest Harbor.

We have contracts to land on several private islands within a day's sail from Southwest and Northeast Harbor. We can anchor off a remote island and dinghy ashore to explore and hike the island or have a simple picnic lunch. There is nothing like moving through the water powered only by the wind. Wildlife, like porpoises and seals, will swim by, not bothered by your presence. Islands drift by slowl

y as you enjoy your peace and quiet on your private charter sailboat. Your only worry would be, "Did I bring my favorite wine?"

We also offer a tide pool excursion adventure. This trip is not on our Shannon sailboat, instead, it is on a 33' landing craft powerboat that allows us easier access to great tide pool locations. You will learn about the organisms that call this intertidal region home. You will be educated and entertained by an energetic marine biologist. I just love sharing the wonders that exist just below the high tide mark.

We’ll be taking a break in 2025, but don’t worry—we’ll be back and ready to set sail again in 2026!

Why the break? The crew is heading out on a big family adventure before First Mate Corbin starts high school and decides we’re not cool enough to hang out with anymore. (We’re in denial, but we hear it happens.)

We’ll miss seeing you next season, but we can’t wait to welcome you back aboard in 2026! Until then, enjoy the wind in your sails! ⛵🌊

A lot of families have enjoyed sailing to the top of Somes Harbor and going for a swim in some of the warmest ocean water around (It is still pretty cold though).

We just received a new ladder for this year to make it easier to get in and out of the water. Nice, wide teak steps are easy on the bare feet.

We can’t wait to Get Out Sailing this year!

Our new first mate, Corbin, is helping Captain Mike get Snow Squall ready for the season. We are working hard to get her ready.

Trips are booking up for the season already. For those of you on the late May/early June waiting list, we wanted you to know it is looking good, but we are still waiting to confirm those trips until we are floating in the water.

We can’t wait to this summer!
