Finishing design and starting to build a new folding trimaran and based on 25-in diameter center pontoon with 6x1.5 cutout for a footwell, deck is 8 ft wide of composite material but just about like a 3/4 sheet of plywood. I've cut a 17 foot sailing catamaran in half so 4 ft struts laying inside a C channel on the deck with pivot pins and hold down bolts. Folding amas will fold up vertically a little past vertical so boat on trailer will be 8.5 ft beam, but 14 ft beam in the water. This idea is a combination of a Tremelino, but with folding amas. Original Tremelino I hope hobie 16 hulls as amas, weather custom fiberglass center hull. Pics soon.

I am starting design and work on folding sailing trimaran using pontoon center hull 24 ft with cutout footwell, 8ft wide synthetic ply deck, & aluminum channel supported amas from 17 ft catamaran cut in half. I will add pictures of the drawing and the main hall and amas soon. This boat will be very light. Main hull under 200 # It will be similar in size and function to an extended 20->23 ft eagle Tramp 1985 Farrier as pictured below. Not as elegant but very inexpensive and functional.

23 ft Folding Sailing Trimaran - $10-20k. Comfortable for 4+ adults, fast, folds easy on trailer or for normal slip.
Folds ike a Farrier or Corsair, but new design and aluminum main hull makes it much cheaper and lighter. Very light and Fast, easily trailerable day sailor. Under 1000 #. Similar to Tremolino in use of beach cat hulls as amas but folding amas and lighter / less expensive.
