Spearfish Canyon Road is again open.

✅⚠️Spearfish Canyon is OPEN⚠️✅

DOT crews worked all day and have reopened the Canyon.

The rockslide damaged the roadway surface. There is signage is place advising of the rough surface.

Please use caution while traveling through the area.

DOT crews will be out re-paving the roadway this week.

⛔️⛔️Spearfish Canyon Road Closure⛔️⛔️

Spearfish Canyon (US 14A) is still currently closed due to a large rockslide. The roadway is impassable and the cliff side is not stable.

Per the South Dakota Department of Transportation, the roadway is closed indefinitely until further notice.

There are roadblocks in place both north and south of the affected area. The southern roadblock is just to the North of Long Valley Ln. The northern roadblock is just to the south of Victoria Ln.

Going around the the roadblock either with a vehicle or on foot is prohibited and will be addressed by Law Enforcement. There will be blasting teams and DOT working in the area and the closure is for the public’s safety. Please give them room to work.

🌟Route will connect from Spearfish High School Parking lot to North Ave. to Main St. and ending off of Grant St. and starts with a B1 flyover at 12:15pm.
