Join Fall Creek Falls State Park for the 48th Annual Mountaineer Folk Festival, a three-day celebration of the heritage, history, music, crafts, food, and natural beauty of the Cumberland Plateau.
📅 Friday, September 11 | Starts at 6:00 PM CST
📅 Saturday, September 12 | 9:00 AM–10:00 PM CST
📅 Sunday, September 13 | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM CST

📍 Fall Creek Falls State Park
Enjoy handmade crafts from nearly 100 vendors, delicious food from 20+ food vendors, live bluegrass and folk music on two stages, and traditional demonstrations including blacksmithing, broom-making, quilting, leatherwork, sorghum milling, weaving, log hewing, and more.

Bring the kids to Little Homesteaders Hideaway for old-fashioned Appalachian games and activities, and don’t miss Saturday’s contests at noon at the softball field, including cross-cut sawing, wood splitting, animal calling, and corn shelling.

🚐 Shuttle service will be available Saturday and Sunday between the festival grounds, Lodge, Campground A, and Nature Center.
Suggested donation: $5 per person per day, supporting the Fall Creek Falls Friends Group.
Come spend the weekend enjoying music, makers, memories, and mountain tradition! 🍁

Tennessee State Parks and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation have made tremendous strides in making the beauty and benefits of nature more accessible to people with limited mobility. From mobility chairs to accessible camping experiences, these efforts are helping ensure that more people have the opportunity to explore, enjoy, and connect with Tennessee’s great outdoors.

I’m proud of Tennessee for continuing to make these experiences available to as many people as possible. Everyone deserves the chance to experience the beauty of nature!

A beautiful tribute to Dolly Parton. She truly did want to make everyone feel at home. I am going to miss her presence but she will always be at home in my heart. Thank you for sharing your post.

She came from a little cabin
beneath the Great Smoky Mountains.
And somehow,
she made the whole world feel like home.
She carried Tennessee in her voice.
In her stories.
In her kindness.
In every song she ever sang.
She showed the world our mountains.
Our music.
Our humor.
Our heart.
And no matter how far she went,
she never really left.
Because Dolly belonged to the world.
But she was always ours.
Today, Tennessee feels a lot quieter.
The mountains, a little emptier.
But we know her voice will echo here forever.
We will always love you, Dolly.
