First up: Dr. Daniel Wildcat, a Yuchi member of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma and a guiding voice in the climate movement.

Dr. Wildcat doesn’t preach panic — he teaches Indigenuity: the blend of Indigenous knowledge and ingenuity. He reminds us that true sustainability isn’t new. It’s ancient. It’s rooted in ceremony, balance, and relationship.

“Unless we foster a non-anthropocentric worldview, it will be difficult to successfully address the physical climate change problems humankind has produced.”

From leading the Rising Voices, Changing Coasts initiative to empowering Indigenous youth through the Haskell Environmental Research Studies Center — his work is a return to wisdom and a vision for the future.

Dr. Wildcat is Wild Rising because he shows us that the most radical act in climate action is to remember — our stories, our relationships, our shared Earth. 🌍

“The mirror never lies, but it doesn’t tell the whole story either.”

This self-portrait was part of a photo assignment exploring reflection—both literal and internal. Through the frame of the mirror, I see where healing has taken place and where I need to still grow.

This image captures more than a reflection; it’s a moment of shadow work—acknowledging what’s been suppressed, meeting it without judgment, and slowly reclaiming my wholeness.
