✨🏡 **Where Walt Disney’s Dreams Began… Marceline, Missouri!** 🌳🐭

Before there was Mickey Mouse, Cinderella Castle, or Disneyland, there was a little boy with a BIG imagination growing up on a farm in Marceline, Missouri! ❤️

During my recent visit to Walt Disney’s family farm with fellow It’s A Small World Adventures travel advisors, I had the opportunity to walk the grounds that helped inspire so much of the Disney magic we know and love today!

🌟 **A Few Fascinating Facts from Walt’s Family Farm:**

🌳 **The Dreaming Tree:** As a young boy, Walt spent hours beneath a giant cottonwood tree, watching animals, insects, and nature while letting his imagination run wild. Although the original tree is no longer standing in its full glory, a descendant known as the *Son of the Dreaming Tree* carries on its legacy!

🏡 **The Disney Family Farm:** Walt was just 4 years old when his family moved to Marceline in 1906. Those five short years would influence his creativity and storytelling for the rest of his life!

🐷 **Walt’s First Show:** Did you know Walt organized a circus in the family barn? He charged neighborhood children 10 cents to watch animals perform, including a pig dressed in baby clothes! His mother made him return their money, teaching him an early lesson about entertaining an audience!

✍️ **Walt’s Barn:** The barn standing today was reconstructed in 2001 to honor Walt's 100th birthday. Visitors are encouraged to sign the inside walls, leaving their own little piece of history. Of course, I had to add my signature!

🚂 **A Love of Trains:** Walt's fascination with trains began during his childhood in Marceline, where he watched the Santa Fe Railroad. That love would eventually become part of the Disney parks!

✨ **One More Amazing Fact:** Walt loved Marceline so much that he actually envisioned creating another attraction there, called *The Marceline Project*, celebrating small-town America and farm life. Unfortunately, he passed away before his dream could become reality.

❤️ Standing where Walt once played, dreamed, and discovered his imagination was an unforgettable experience. It was a wonderful reminder that even the biggest dreams can begin in the smallest places.

✨🏰 Where the Magic Began… Marceline, Missouri! 🏰✨

What an incredible experience visiting the charming little town that helped inspire Walt Disney’s dreams! ❤️🐭

I had the opportunity to explore Marceline, Missouri, alongside some wonderful fellow It’s A Small World Adventures travel consultants! ✨

🌟 Highlights from our magical day:

🏛️ Toured the Walt Disney Hometown Museum, filled with Disney family history and treasured memories.

🏘️ Walked up and down Marceline’s historic Main Street, the inspiration behind Disney’s beloved Main Street, U.S.A.!

🥤 Enjoyed a famous Dusty Miller!

🌳 Visited the Disney family farm, saw the “son” of Walt’s beloved Dreaming Tree, and even had the opportunity to sign the Disney barn! ✍️

🎤 Enjoyed a wonderful guided tour filled with fascinating stories about Walt’s childhood and the town he loved.

❤️ One of the most memorable moments was meeting Kaye, a personal friend of the Disney family! She shared stories about Walt and his wife, Lillian, staying at her family’s home when she was a child. Her home was the only house in Marceline with air conditioning at the time! How amazing to hear firsthand memories of Walt Disney!

✨ As a travel advisor who loves all things Disney, experiencing the history behind the magic made this trip extra special!

Marceline may be a small town, but its connection to Disney history is HUGE! ❤️
