Zoe the Truffle Dog Zoe is the Rat Terrier/ Poodle member of our family. One day, we decided to play "hide the truffle" and the rest is history you don't want to miss!

We are so proud of Zoe! Here's a video of today's hunt that shows her progress as a Truffle Hunter. We will work backwards to show how it all started.

If you have a dog and are interested in hunting truffles. Here's a few qualities that most Truffle Dogs have:

1. A keen sense of smell. This is actually most dogs but working dogs seem to be the choice of the professionals. Note that truffles have a very distinctive odor. To a dog this odor is like an invisible tornado in the forest that only your dog can see. All you need to do is to teach your dog how to communicate with you about their location.
2. Your dog must come when you call it. This is trait is not negotiable, work on this first.
3. A food motivated dog is much easier to train to hunt truffles.
