In early August we stayed at Disney Port Orleans- Riverside Resort for the first time. I was blown away by how beautiful this Moderate Resort was. We stayed in Alligator Bayou in a 5th sleeper room. The room had significantly more room than a value resort room, though we wished it had more storage space. The resort itself was the perfect size and we enjoyed our short walks to the pool and quick service dining along the river. The resort has four internal bus stops where you can catch a bus to any of the theme parks which was very nice and convenient. Our closest bus stop was a 1 minute walk from our room. Let's not forget about the riverboats that take you directly to Disney Springs. One of the advantages of staying at the Port Orleans Resorts is you can use the amenities at both resorts. We tried the pools at both resorts. The pool area at Riverside had a really nice water slide that my daughters loved going down and overall a much more relaxing atmosphere. The water slide had almost no line most of the time. The pool at Port Orleans- French Quarter is very popular, but we all found it very busy and crowded. The waterslide was significantly smaller and there was always a long line. The pool at French Quarter does have a kids water play area which was pretty nice!

This is a resort I would definitely recommend for larger families and you can usually find pretty good prices for this resort.
