🌊🦞 Maine, you were a DREAM. 🦞🌊

Our time in Maine was filled with everything I imagined and more — beautiful coastal views, charming little streets, cozy cottages, salty ocean air, and SO much lobster. 🦞🤍

Kennebunkport was absolutely adorable and felt like the perfect little coastal escape. From the gorgeous harbor views and quaint shops to the cozy New England cottages and incredible seafood, it was hard not to fall in love with every corner. There’s just something about slowing down, wandering around, and taking in the beauty of the Maine coast that makes you never want to leave. 🌊🏡

And of course… we couldn’t visit Maine without eating our way through the lobster rolls! 🦞 One of our absolute favorites was at D’Millo’s on the Water in Portland — delicious lobster, beautiful waterfront views, and the perfect Maine atmosphere. Definitely a stop I’d recommend adding to your list!

Maine gave us beautiful scenery, great food, cozy coastal vibes, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time. 🤍

✈️ When does your passport actually expire?

When you look at your passport, you’d probably assume it expires on the expiration date printed inside… right?

Not always.

Many countries require your passport to be valid for months beyond your travel dates. For example, if you’re traveling to the Dominican Republic, your passport generally needs to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your entry date.

That means if you’re leaving next week and your passport expires in December, you could be denied boarding or refused entry—even though your passport hasn’t technically expired yet.

Customs and immigration officials don’t make exceptions for these requirements, so it’s always worth checking the entry rules for your destination well before your trip.

💡 Travel Tip: As soon as you book a trip, check your passport expiration date. Renewing it early can save you a lot of stress later!

Traveling in the off-season can save you BIG! ✈️🌴

One of the best ways to stretch your travel budget is by being flexible with when you travel.

I recently quoted 9 nights at beautiful all-inclusive resorts in Mexico in October for around $1,500 per person—a price that’s often hundreds (or even thousands) less than peak-season travel!

If your schedule allows you to travel during the shoulder or off-season, you can often enjoy:

🏖️ Fewer crowds
🍹 More availability at top resorts
😌 A more relaxing vacation

✈️ Travel Tip Tuesday 💡

Learn from our mistake… ALWAYS fill up your rental car before returning it! ⛽️

We were running behind and skipped the gas station, thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal. It was. 😅 We ended up with a $113 fuel charge from the rental company.

A quick 5-minute stop could’ve saved us a lot of money!

Don’t be like us—set a reminder, find a gas station near the airport ahead of time, and return your rental with a full tank. Your wallet will thank you! 💸

Travel tip: Don’t automatically dismiss long layovers!

We saved over $500 on airfare by choosing a longer layover in Chicago. In exchange, we get a bonus day of adventure—enjoying a Chicago dog, visiting the Shedd Aquarium, and soaking in the city’s incredible sights before our next flight.

A little flexibility can go a long way when it comes to travel savings.

Now it’s time for the main event: Banff, Canada 🇨🇦 — country #16 for me!🏔️✈️

One of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had while traveling was at Scala Santa in Kotor.

We started with scallops, bruschetta, and mussels for appetizers, and for our main courses we had prawns and truffle pasta with tiny shrimp. Every bite was incredible, but it was more than just the food. The atmosphere, the beautiful setting in Kotor, and the experience of sharing a meal while exploring a new destination made it one of those meals I’ll never forget.

I’ve been a little MIA lately because I’ve been soaking up the sunshine on Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast! ☀️🌊

One of the highlights of this trip was scuba diving at the St. Andrew’s State Park jetties, and I can’t recommend it enough. The crystal-clear water, incredible marine life, and unforgettable views made for an amazing experience.

We’ve also enjoyed some fantastic fresh seafood, spotted all kinds of sea life, and spent plenty of time relaxing on some of the most beautiful beaches around. The beach has always been my happy place. 🏖️💙
