🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the Springville-Mapleton Chamber of Commerce! 🇺🇸
Today we celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, and the ideals that have shaped our nation for nearly 250 years—freedom, opportunity, self-government, and the pursuit of happiness.
Did you know? While the Declaration was adopted on July 4, the vote for independence actually took place on July 2, 1776. And the first Independence Day celebrations included many of the same traditions we enjoy today—bells, music, community gatherings, and fireworks.
As we celebrate with family, friends, neighborhood events, and community traditions, we pause to thank the brave men and women of our Armed Forces, veterans, first responders, and their families for their service, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting the freedoms we enjoy each day.
With the increased fire danger this year, please celebrate responsibly. Before lighting fireworks, check the approved fireworks maps and follow guidance shared by Mapleton and Springville City. Only use fireworks in approved areas, keep water and a hose nearby, fully extinguish fireworks after use, and be mindful of dry vegetation and changing conditions.
As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, we're especially grateful for the businesses, organizations, and residents who help make our communities strong, connected, and vibrant.
