Q: Is a veranda suite worth it on a port-intensive Mediterranean sailing?
A: Yes — but for the edges of the day, not the middle. On a sailing like Silver Ray's Barcelona roundtrip — 9 ports, just 1 sea day — you'll be ashore most hours. The veranda earns its keep at coffee on sail-in, a quiet breakfast before a tour, and a glass of w**e at sail-away as the port lights fade.
The nuance: if you'll barely be in the suite, or the upgrade strains the budget, spend it on a special excursion instead. If mornings and evenings on your own balcony are how you unwind, it's worth it.
