I’m lying flat in a proper bed — not a “flatbed seat,” a bed — somewhere over the North Atlantic, wrapped in a duvet that has no business being this soft on an airplane, watching the sun set for the second time today.

Two weeks on the Amalfi Coast. I have so many great memories exploring some of the best hotels in the world.
Leaving Capri — the Italian flag catching the wind, the cliffs disappearing behind us. Some moments announce themselves.
A chef made limoncello slushies from scratch. Lemons from the hillside above the coast. Nothing has ever tasted more like a place.
Lunch at in Ravello — festive, beautiful, live music on a terrace overlooking the entire Mediterranean. I didn’t want it to end.
Dinner was a celebration at in Sorrento. Grand and warm and spectacular in the way only the great Italian hotels know how to be.
And then in Positano. I’ve recommended it to clients for years. Walking in myself — the charm, the warmth, the romance — it exceeded everything I expected. One of the best hotels in the world. I say that having been to many of them.
Two weeks on the Amalfi Coast. I hope everyone gets to experience this — even just once.

Positano. Praiano. Two towns on the same coastline that couldn’t feel more different — and that’s exactly what makes this stretch so special. ✨
Positano is everything you’ve imagined — buzzing with shops, restaurants, and beach energy that’s completely intoxicating. Praiano sits just down the road and feels like a different world. Quieter. More residential. The Amalfi Coast without the crowd.
And tucked into the cliffs between them is one of my favorite hotels in all of Italy — Il San Pietro di Positano. There are properties that are beautiful, and then there are properties that make you feel something. This is the latter.
What I’ve learned after exploring every corner of this coastline: there is a perfect Amalfi hotel for every kind of traveler. And I now know exactly which one is yours.

I’ve now seen it with my own eyes — and Ravello and Amalfi did not disappoint. ✨
Let’s start with Ravello, such a charming village. Perched high above the coast, it’s quiet, walkable, and genuinely adorable — the kind of hill town where you wander into beautiful gardens, stop for gelato that tastes like it was made this morning (because it was), and realize an hour has passed without a single crowd in sight. Ravello doesn’t hustle. It simply glows.
And then the hotels. Seven properties across Ravello and Amalfi, each one more beautiful than the last. Stunning views — the kind where you stop mid-sentence because the sea catches the light just right and you need a moment. Genuinely warm people who make you feel like a guest. Spaces that are grand without being cold.
This coast has inspired artists and composers for centuries, and standing inside these properties, I completely understand why.

Ischia — I wasn’t ready to leave. ✨
Sant’Angelo won me over completely. Narrow lanes, no cars, charming little shops, and the kind of unhurried wandering that makes you forget what time it is.
The food? Every meal felt like an event. Fresh, simple, and so deeply Italian.
And three hotels that each told a completely different story about what luxury looks like on this island. I’m still thinking about all of it.
