We love the fire pit at our cabin, but we want all guests to know and abide by local burn bans. Virginia restricts fires before 4pm during the dry season between February and April. Enjoy the fire pit responsibly!

A strong cold front will bring heavy rain & high winds to the region later today. Southerly winds are gusting up to 25 mph this morning with 40-55 mph gusts expected later this afternoon into tonight as the front passes. Winds will continue Thursday before diminishing Thursday night.

She's the best! Samantha does a great job turning over my 2br/1ba cabin with a hot tub and a fire pit plus deck furniture. We've worked out a checklist that covers all the main things, plus she's very open with ideas to improve. Occasionally, we've been able to get flowers and cards for birthdays and anniversaries. She's always punctual or arranges ahead of time to come later. Communication is great! Overall, her value as a short term rental cleaner is 5-star!

Virginia's fall fire season runs from now until Nov. 30. The season combines dry, windy weather with fallen leaves to create favorable wildfire conditions. This year's dry summer could make conditions even more potent. 💨🍂🔥

This guest also pointed out that nav systems don't take you straight to the cabin -- it's frustrating, but we've submitted changes through Google Maps and OpenMaps to fix their routing. We also provide easy written instructions in the digital guide we send all guests after booking. The way here isn't terribly complicated when Siri isn't sending you down the wrong path!
