What is the deposit amount?
Most of our trips require a $500.00 USD (per person) non refundable deposit per person (though it can be transferred) but a scant few do require larger amounts – all of that will be detailed to you in writing when before you make your actual booking.

These look like adult trips – are any of these trips for families with kids?
INDEED! While the majority of our riders are friends traveling on their own or with friends, we have a very nice section of rides that cater to families – both of varied ability or varied interest level? So if you’ve got some that want to sleep on 24/7 on horseback and others that want to see horses in the distance (or anything in between) let us know and we’ll send you all the details on trips that would work best for your family!

2027 Dates: April 3-10
There are three itineraries for this amazing area of France – all are similar in terms of terrain and some history – but because the area is truly “THAT” rich with information, you’ll love any of them! This area is quite grand and a real treat for the eyes and the palate. Your week is filled with varied landscapes, villages, medieval villages and sumptuous castles. In the heart of the black Perigord, named after the black oak forest, you’ll explore the valleys of the Vezere and the Dordogne and will be lulled into a virtual time warp with the centuries old history. Visits of castles and bastides (ancient fortified villages) give you sites that not many see when traveling in France.

Join us for a week of riding filled with history, scenic views, varied landscapes, villages and sumptuous castles.

Thank You to Stacey Adams/Active Riding Trips our US Coordinator/Hostess, to Anne-France our Fabulous French Equestrian Guide & Hostess, to Jen-Michel & His Cavy of Horses as we Enjoyed Clip-Clopping our way through the French Countryside, Villages & Cantering on Omaha Beach!!! Visiting the American Cemetery & getting to glimpse the Rich History, The Cathedral at Bayeux & the William the Conqueror Tapestry at the Museum, The French Hospitality, The Chateaus for Lodging, The Meals & Wine, Were All Exquisite!!! Riding the beach of Mont St Michel Bay was a treat of its own!!!

Perhaps I would make the National Stud farm an afternoon by taxi because of the busy traffic and include the stay at Mont St Michel as part of the package somehow…but other than that, it was completely dreamy!!!!"
