Kids receive FREE admission this weekend to one of Staunton’s historic gems. 👏

When was the last time you visited the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library & Museum? If your answer is “a long time ago” or “I’ve actually never been,” this weekend is a pretty great time to change that.

The first-ever CMA’s Valley Subaru Family Weekend is happening this Saturday and Sunday, giving families a new reason to explore the museum together.

Kids 17 and under get FREE admission, while adults can visit through the museum’s pay-what-you-will admission program.

There’s plenty to explore, from the museum and presidential birthplace to the historic gardens and interactive museum exhibits. A few must-sees include the presidential Pierce-Arrow limousine, a re-creation of a World War I trench, and the temporary “Remember the Ladies: Fashion, Freedom, and The Fabric of a Nation” exhibition.

Already have plans this weekend? That's OK! Family Weekends will happen the first weekend of each month through February, thanks to a generous sponsorship from CMA's Valley Subaru.

Details:
Location: 230 E. Frederick St.
Dates: First weekend of the month starting September 5–6
Time: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Bring your kids or grandkids, come curious, and leave with a little more Staunton history and presidential trivia than when you arrived!

Take the scenic route this fall!

Virginia Scenic Railway's new Autumn Special brings unique excursions to the Shenandoah Valley for four October weekends of fall foliage, vintage diesel engines and unforgettable views.

Choose your adventure:
🍂 North Mountain Passage (2 hours)
🍂 Alleghany Limited (3 hours)
🍂 Staunton Stop & Shop (5 hours, including two hours to explore downtown Staunton)
🍂 Afton Lunch Adventure (6 hours)

All excursions depart from Victoria Station in Goshen, but we think Staunton makes a pretty magical place to stay before or after your ride.

Spend the weekend exploring downtown, shopping independent shops, visiting museums, discovering local restaurants, seeing live theatre, and soaking up Staunton’s historic charm.
