Cory Klauss, standing right, was observing this 3rd Round game on Board 2. I am on the left and in a tough Knight v. Bishop endgame against strong Oklahoma expert Logan Zachare. Logan Zachare is on the Oklahoma Chess Team and will be on the top board at RRSO XVI, on 21 April 2018, in Davis OK. Both Cory and myself are members of the Texas Chess Team. As all serious chess players know, the REAL Red River Shootout is a series of annual team matches between the most fanatical chess players in Oklahoma and Texas. Top ranked Oklahoma CHESS Team has the crown and anticipates a FOUR-PEAT. However, the Southern Conference Champions Texas Chess Team leads the series 9-6 despite playing on the road year after year after year.
