According to a recent study by Fishbox, featured in Travel + Leisure, Lake of the Ozarks has been ranked the 4th cleanest lake in the United States!

Out of 100 major lakes analyzed, researchers looked at key water quality indicators like dissolved oxygen, nutrient levels such as phosphorus, and mineral content. These factors impact water clarity, aquatic life, and overall ecosystem health.

💧 Why that matters:
High dissolved oxygen supports healthy fish populations, while balanced nutrient levels help prevent harmful algae growth. These are the same types of indicators seen in top-ranked lakes like Lake Superior, known for its clear, oxygen-rich water.

This recognition proves what we already know. Osage Beach is more than just a place to visit. It is a healthy, thriving place to live and grow.

The Birth of the Lake

Did you know that 95 years ago this month, our view changed forever? 🌊🏗️

In February 1931, the Bagnell Dam was finally completed, and the Osage River began to fill the valley. What was once rolling farmland and river bluffs started transforming into the Lake of the Ozarks—at the time, the largest man-made lake in the world!

It’s amazing to think that less than a century ago, the spot where you might be parked or boating today was a completely different world.
