In 2018, I quit my stable job to follow my heart and pursue full-time. DryFox wasn’t profitable at this point and I had no idea it would take another 5 years to get there, but it was what I wanted the most and the only way I could give my dream the time it needed was to take a complete leap.

In 2021, I bought a van and in 2022, I sold my house and decided to travel full-time with my 2 cats.

I took a very different path than most.

It hasn’t always been easy. But I’ve never looked back and would choose it all again in a heartbeat.

“Your brand is for women.”
“Your towels aren’t masculine enough.”

I hear comments like these from men walking past my booth, and honestly, they make me think…

What exactly makes a towel masculine or feminine?

Is it the color? The pattern? The flowers? The butterflies? The fact that something is bold, bright, or a little different?

Who decided that certain colors belong to men and others belong to women?

At DryFoxCo, our prints are inspired by nature, adventure, and the freedom to express yourself. Some are wild and colorful. Some are moody and earthy. Some have flowers, butterflies, or designs you might not expect to see on outdoor gear.

And that’s the point.

A man can love purple. He can love butterflies. He can love a bright tropical print. He can also love black, camo, or mountains. None of those choices make him any more or less masculine.

Color is color. Style is personal. Adventure is for everyone.

I started DryFoxCo to make outdoor gear that’s functional, different, and full of personality — not to fit into someone else’s box.

So, the next time you walk past my booth, don’t assume my brand isn’t for you before you’ve even taken a look.

Unpopular opinion: you don’t have to summit a mountain, hike 10 miles, or own $500 hiking boots to be outdoorsy 👀

Some of my favorite outdoor memories have been made sitting by a campfire, chasing waterfalls, taking the long way to nowhere, or just sitting somewhere beautiful with absolutely nothing on the agenda.

But somewhere along the way, it feels like being “outdoorsy” became a competition. Who hikes the farthest, climbs the highest, has the best gear, or does the most extreme adventures.

And honestly? I think we’re missing the point.

For some people, it’s summiting a mountain at sunrise. For others, it’s a beach day, a slow walk through the woods, or drinking coffee outside their tent.

So I want to know what YOU think. 👇

What actually makes someone outdoorsy? Is it the miles, the skills, the gear… or simply a love for being outside?
