Hello! As summer approaches please remember my weekend dates fill up fast with Streator visitors. Book early to avoid a blocked date.
The Illinois legislature has begun the process to implement a new tax on short term rentals. Currently we pay 11% tax rate, which is tacked on to the booking fee. If this bill passes, the new tax will add an additional 4% to the bill. I am concerned what this will do to my business, my clients. Currently I am not profitable on an annual basis, but just pay for all of the expenses….gas, electricity, water, sewer, WiFi, and cable tv. I happen this doesn’t pass, but with the structure of government in Illinois, I am fairly certain this will pass. If you have any influence, please let me know.
