I've been enjoying stargazing a lot lately with my kids when we go to places with low light pollution. Big Bear is great for that given our location has significantly less light pollution. San Bernardino County promotes a good neighbor policy to help reduce light pollution. We like to lay down in our driveway after dark and identify the constellations. Tonight Ursa Major (Greater Bear) was very easy to find to the right of us in the sky as well as a few other ones. The Perseid meteor shower is also visible this time of year until Sep. We also have been tracking the ISS lately in relation to our locations. You can download Stellarium and ISS Live Now to enjoy both these apps.

I'm anxiously waiting for the third little pip to hatch, but I'm so happy for Shadow and Jackie that they have two healthy looking ones hatch this season. What great blessings if they can successfully raise three hatchlings, avoid the elements challenge and predators while doing it.
