A little “behind the scenes” of using a travel advisor… because I don’t think everyone realizes how this works. ❤️
I do not charge my clients a service or planning fee. My quotes are free, my help is free, and I’m happy to answer questions and help you sort through your options.
So how do I get paid?
The travel supplier pays me a commission — but only when you actually book your trip through me AND travel.
That means when I spend time researching resorts, comparing dates, checking different room categories, looking at flights, explaining destinations, answering questions, putting together quotes, watching for promotions, and helping narrow down the best option for you, there is no paycheck attached to that work unless the vacation is ultimately booked through me and you travel.
And I completely understand that not every quote turns into a vacation! Plans change. Budgets change. Dates don’t work. Sometimes you decide to wait, choose a different destination, or life simply gets in the way. That is part of this business, and I truly understand it.
The part that can be discouraging is spending hours helping someone plan and research a trip, only for that exact trip to then be booked directly with the supplier.
In most cases, booking with me costs you the SAME as booking directly. The difference is that you have someone in your corner helping before, during, and after your trip — and the supplier pays me for doing that job instead of keeping that portion themselves.
So if a travel advisor has helped you research and plan your vacation and you decide you’re ready to book, please consider allowing them to handle the booking too. That’s how you support our small businesses. ❤️
You’re never obligated to book because I gave you a quote. I just ask that if I’ve done the work and helped you find the trip you want, give me the opportunity to book it for you.
