🇬🇧A British Overseas Territory (governed by the UK).
🏝️Main islands: Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, Jost Van D**e.
💰Currency: US Dollar (yes, even though they’re British!)
✨Vibe: Quieter, upscale, and known for sailing, luxury resorts, and natural beauty.
🛂 Entry: Passport required for U.S. citizens.

USVI (United States Virgin Islands):
🇺🇸 A U.S. territory (like Puerto Rico).

Today, we’re going to learn about one of the most remote places on earth - EASTER ISLAND! 🗺️🗿🐰

1. Why It’s Called “Easter” Island
It got its name because a Dutch explorer showed up on Easter Sunday in 1722. Not super creative—but it stuck. 🤷‍♀️

2. Middle of Nowhere (Literally)
Easter Island is one of the most remote places on Earth—way out in the Pacific Ocean, over 2,000 miles from Chile (which it’s part of). 🇨🇱

3. Home of the Giant Heads 🗿
Those giant stone heads? They’re called moai, and there are almost 1,000 of them. Fun fact: most of them actually have full bodies buried underground!

Seaweed, Sargassum, & Seagrass – What’s the Difference? 🤔
Clients often ask about the “seaweed” in the Mexican Caribbean, but not all of it is the same! Here’s a quick breakdown:

✅ Sargassum – The brown, floating algae that washes up seasonally. It comes from the Atlantic and is not harmful, but can have a strong smell when it accumulates.
✅ Seagrass – Found naturally in shallow waters, it’s an important part of the marine ecosystem, providing shelter for sea life. Resorts don’t remove it because it helps keep beaches from eroding!
✅ Seaweed – A general term for underwater plants/algae, but what most travelers notice is either sargassum or seagrass.

Setting the right expectations for our clients can help them enjoy their trip—sargassum is seasonal, but seagrass is a natural part of the ocean!
