Two custom-made 16" Tenon Saws, each with its own personality.

Both feature maple handles but with different finishes. One is fitted with a black-oxide back and brass fasteners, paired with a checkered handle. The other features a nickel-coated back with matching nickel fasteners for a clean, classic look.

We’re Hiring! 🪚

Bad Axe Tool Works is looking for an Assistant Sawmaker to join our small team building premium handcrafted backsaws and handsaws.

This is a full-time hands-on shop position that includes:
• Assembling saws
• Setting saw teeth
• Shipping domestic & international orders
• Shop upkeep & organization
• Operating small shop machinery
• Quality control & production support
• Traveling to woodworking tradeshows throughout the year

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has strong attention to detail
• Enjoys working with their hands
• Works well in a small team environment
• Wants to learn traditional craftsmanship skills
• Is interested in growing into a full sawmaker role

No prior sawmaking experience required, but woodworking, manufacturing, or hand tool experience is a plus.

This position offers the opportunity to learn advanced sawmaking skills including sharpening and finishing handcrafted saws.

A whole lot of precision packed into a 10" saw✨

Our Luthier Saw is the finest-toothed saw in our lineup, featuring a 16ppi toothline and an ultra-thin .015" plate for exceptionally clean cuts. Pair it with the depth stop for cutting uniform fret slots, or remove the stop to take advantage of the saw’s full cutting depth.

We met .alex at a tradeshow a while back and he was carrying around a rolling dovetail he had made. Of course we geeked out over how cool this joint is! Fast forward to today, he sent us our own rolling dovetail to play around with in the shop 😎 had to show this off because it's so much fun. Thanks Alex!!

Test cutting a Panel Saw that is 2x too big for my extra small hands 😂

This is our 26" Rip-Cut Panel Saw, taper-ground to reduce friction and help the saw track cleanly without binding in the kerf. The plate is made from blue-tempered spring steel, hardened to a Rockwell range of 49–52 for an ideal balance of strength, flexibility, and edge retention.

Each saw plate is hammer-smith straightened, the teeth are hammer-set, and the saw is carefully sharpened and tuned to be ready for serious work 🪚
