: Tropical Storm has formed in the Atlantic, 5th named storm of the 2025 Atlantic Season and could even become the first major hurricane too. Track is discussed below ( #2), here are some thoughts as of Monday:
1. Erin is expected to gradually strengthen into a hurricane over the next 5 days while in the open Atlantic. Even a Major Hurricane during a portion of its overall life can't be ruled out, especially if it can take advantage of good ingredients ahead.
2. The trend has been our friend recently, with the majority of the ensembles (possible tracks) taking Erin north and then out to sea. Even the AI European model has shifted east over the past 12-24 hours. While this is overall positive, we're not completely out of the woods just yet. I still do have a few models that keep the Eastern United States into the mix. For now though, let's root for the majority.
3. Even if Erin stays offshore, it would become a powerful hurricane in the Atlantic with the potential to bring larger waves and rip currents to the US East Coast. Bermuda still needs to closely monitor this system.
That's it for now! I'll keep you updated every step of the way 24/7 without the hype. Thanks all!
