To the brave men and women serving the US military in Alaska and around the world - thank you for your service! We’re grateful for your initial enlistment and for those who choose to re-enlist, continuing to serve our country. Your sacrifices don’t go unnoticed, especially out here near Matanuska Glacier. 🙏 📸 :

Yesterday we lost our best, most fearless, and most beloved backguide, Copper — aka Little Red Dog. He knew the glacier as well as any of us. Loyal, loving, wild, and fierce, he was an incredible friend to us all. There won’t be a day we don’t think about him, and there will be a hole in our hearts forever. Copper is the kind of soul who never really leaves—just runs a little farther ahead on the trail. Rest in peace, good boy. We all look forward to the day we see you again ♥️

Our hearts go out to & .namio who were the very best parents and companions.

Winter Solstice. The beginning of the light. Each day becomes a little brighter. We rejoice in knowing the dark times are coming to an end; even if we don’t see it immediately. Some may look at the Winter Solstice as the shortest day of the year, but all we see are the long and bright days ahead.
