She ran through one of our ghost walk groups on Church Street, and a few weeks later she joined our very first team of Spirit Guides! Turns out she’s also a North Carolina author, and her new book Vanishing Voices launched TODAY, set right here in our Friendly City by the Sea. 📚 A cozy mystery just in time for Labor Day and spooky season! 👻

Much of the research for our experiences was conducted here using the amazing resources provided by the center - court records not yet digitized, books, maps, and genealogical materials.

Our friends from out of town launching a new ghost walk in our little town begin tonight.

➡️ The guide and her husband walked unannounced with Spirits of Swansboro on July 15.
➡️ The guide recently posted a video with several stops on our tour with stories that could only be known about through us. I will take this post down and apologize if the guide wants to share with me how the stories were sourced.
➡️ Her husband has left several interesting comments on one of my recent videos (don’t bother to delete, I’ve got screenshots!)

Why do I know all this!? Because I’m a small business owner that touches every single guest and experience I offer. 🧡

Am I worried about business? NOPE! We’ve become a huge part of the community through time and effort. Something an out of town company would never bother to do. We’ve followed local rules, worked with business owners and residents, spent years training passionate guides. AND we’ve got the most amazing support (and marketing strategy 🔥)

Do I take it personally… YES! I spent months researching for our ghost walk content, writing storylines, interviewing, building relationships. Then this person spends $38 to potentially riff some of our content and claim as their own.

For anyone checking it out …. Enjoy some of our stories at a higher price! 👻
