What a perfect Sunday morning on the water! We finished up our final Birding/Wildlife Cruise until the fall with beautiful summer breezes and amazing wildlife sightings.

Exciting events today:
*Took my first clear photo of a gorgeous female Painted Bunting!
*Spotted an American Oystercatcher sporting research tracking bands on both legs.
*Spotted an Eagle flying over on the way back in.

We had some "well-seasoned"🧂guests on our boat last week - visitors from long ago and far away....😁

Martha (pronounced "Mah-tha") and Malachi came out with us on a Sunset Cruise, along with other family members. Of course, they insisted on stopping the boat for photos in front of some of our favorite Swansboro icons along the way!

We wish them well as they continue their whirlwind travels across the country and hope they'll come back to see us again!

It was a little breezy on our cruise last night but the Blue Moon decided to finally show herself, making a dramatic entrance from the clouds on the horizon. Those moon pies really did the trick!🤗

You never know what you'll see when you head out with Capt. Tim! Say hello to a true survivor - the Horseshoe Crab!!

Did you know Horseshoe Crabs were around BEFORE the dinosaurs?? They have blue blood and 10 eyes, and they're not really crabs.🦀 They are more closely related to spiders and scorpions and the millions of eggs they lay each year is an important food source for many shore birds and other marine life.

Cheers to this "living fossil" who is still going strong after more than 450 million years!!
